Butterfly Drawing: 3D drawing is a technique of drawing a 3D object on a 2D surface. It is a strategy of drawing. Here 3D stands for three-dimensional like height, width, and depth of an object.
Human beings are 3D objects. In the same way, many other objects have 3D effects.
To create a 3D effect in our drawings, we draw the objects and then duplicate it. After that, the vertices are joined.
Here we are going to draw a 3D butterfly on a piece of paper. The butterfly will look like a flying object. To create 3D effects in the drawing is fun. It is an art in its true essence.
Requirements for the drawing of a butterfly
Here are given the required tools for drawing. Get these tools and start to draw a 3D butterfly.
- Drawing paper
- Drawing board
- DOMS 4B pencil( zoom ultimate dark)
- Black pointer
- Pencil colors
Step by step guidelines for 3D drawing
Here is a step by step guide for drawing. The guidelines are easy and understandable. Follow the given instructions and steps.
Butterfly Drawing Step 1
At the starting point, set your drawing paper on the drawing board. Using DOMS 4B pencil, start the drawing of a 3D butterfly. First, draw the head of the butterfly. Then Draw the thorax part of the butterfly. It is the middle part of the body of the butterfly. It is present in the center of the head and abdomen.
Now draw the abdomen of the butterfly that is to the lower side of the thorax. Covering the thorax of the butterfly, draw the right and upper side of the wing. As you can see in the picture above.
Butterfly Drawing Step 2
In the 2nd step of drawing, draw the lower wing of the right side. Now draw the left-sided wings of a 3D butterfly. Trace the wings of a butterfly in flowery style.
Draw the two antennae of the butterfly that is present on the head of the butterfly. Thick the one corner of antennas. The structural outlines of the butterfly are complete now. Follow the given picture above.
Butterfly Drawing Step 3
In the 3rd step, we have to draw wing veins. These veins are present on the surface of the wings. Draw veins by following the picture of step 3.
Butterfly Drawing Step 4
In the fourth step of drawing, draw the wing veins to all the wings of the 3D butterfly. Complete the veins as shown in the picture above.
Butterfly Drawing Step 5
In this step of drawing, use a black pointer. Draw the outlines of veins, wings, thorax, abdomen, head, and antenna using a black pointer. After that draw small circles on the outer surface of the wings. Fill the remaining part of the surface with a black pointer.
Use yellow oil pencil color and fill the light shade to the veins of the butterfly. Fill the double shade of the color to the sides of the veins. Following the given picture, complete the look of a butterfly.
Now, we are going to create a 3D effect in the butterfly picture. Using a grey color pencil, draw a shadow of the butterfly to the right side of each part of the body. Blending the shadow. As you can see in the picture above.
In the last and final step of drawing, give a perfect shape of a 3D image to the butterfly. Draw a line to one side of the paper. Cut this size using scissors. Follow the given picture. You can see the 3D butterfly on your paper.
The drawing of the 3D butterfly is complete now. Now watch below complete video for more explanation of the steps to make 3D butterfly drawing.
